Baroness Emma Orczy was one of the most well-known and skilled authors of mystery literature of the late 1800s and early 20th century. Her unique position as a writer, playwright and artist of noble origin placed her at the heart of European politics at the time, and gave her remarkable insight into the high society of the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
