Macon, the US Navy unyielding aircraft got wrecked in a typhoon and lands into the ocean – like the actual USS Macon did in 1935, helmsman Bill Austin remains with his commanding officer till all of his troops have safely left. Bill’s leg gets mutated because of the crash and departs the Navy.

He seeks for a job, although employments are limited in San Francisco. He attempts to work at a lumber business managed by Lloyd Skinner, intervening a conference among Lloyd and his bride to be Margaret Ricks. Lloyd tells him to quit his office. Matt Peasely, manager of a shipping company in the same establishment, is more courteous, although the response is still alike. Undaunted, Bill searches for Cappy Ricks, the retired initiator of both businesses. . .

Peter B. Kyne was a US writer who established his literary career in the beginning of the 20th century. He was born in San Francisco, California. Most of his oeuvres were made into movies at the outset of the silent moving picture times, specifically his first novel, The Three Godfathers, which was issued in 1913 and turned out to be very successful. Over 100 screenplays were rendered from his novels from 1914 to 1952, most of the first novels without approval or recompense. Peter also made the heroine of Cappy Ricks in a novella serial.
