Description

The Glories of Mary is a historical volume in the subject of Roman Catholic Mariology, penned throughout the 18th century by Saint Alphonsus Liguori, a Doctor of the Church. The religiosity was transcribed during those times when most Jansenists – which were professed heretical by the Pope – were censuring Marian piety, and was transcribed partly as a vindication of Marian piety. The devotion to Mary cartels innumerable quotations preferably of devoutness to the Blessed Virgin Mary from the Church Fathers and the Doctors of the Church with Saint Alphonsus’ own respective points of view on Marian worship and consists of a count of Marian prayers and traditions.

Alphonsus Liguori at times referred as Alphonsus Maria Liguori, was an Italian Catholic bishop, religious scriber, composer, musician, artist, poet, attorney, scholarly philosopher, and theologian.

He formed the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer – the Redemptorists. Then he was designated as Bishop of Sant’Agata dei Goti. A thoughtful scriber as he created his Moral Theology in 9 editions during his meaningful existence, and also other spiritual and austere books and correspondences. Some of his most famous writings are The Glories of Mary and The Way of the Cross, the second still made use in community churches throughout Lenten holy rites.

In 1839, he was canonized by Pope Gregory XVI and declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Pius IX in 1871. He is one of the much largely read Catholic writers, he is the patron saint of confessors.

Alphonsus was a creative and famous writer. He was skillful in the arts, his parents having had him taught by different virtuosos, and he was a musician, painter, poet and writer all at once. Alphonsus made 111 books on religiosity and theology. The 21,500 editions and the transliterations into 72 linguistics that his books have gone through affirm to the reality that he is among the much largely read Catholic writers.
