Description

Padraic Colum was a master story teller and a prolific writer, and in this short story mixes gaudy players and a striking story line with the crudely formed plainly the tale requires. This Irish adaptation of the tale of Cinderella is a timeless fairy tale as you have not happenstance it in the past. Padraic writes a fully inimitable world of enthralled forests, prowling titans, chattering geese, and a mystic robe created out of crow feathers. In her exciting ventures, Maid-Alone, Padraic’s female protagonist, stays unfaltering in her solemn intensity and wisdom.

Padraic Colum was an Irish poet, novelist, dramatist, biographer, playwright, children’s writer and folklorist. He was among the key figures of the Irish Literary Revival.

He was given an award by Cumann na nGaedheal for his anti-enlistment theatrical, The Saxon Shillin’. During his show he came to be implicated with the National Theatre Society and came to be involved in the foundation of the Abbey Theatre, inditing a number of its first performances. His first show, Broken Soil, retitled as The Fiddler’s House was staged by W. G. Fay’s Irish National Dramatic Company. The Land, was among the theater’s first huge successes. He produced another significant presentation for the Abbey entitled Thomas Muskerry.

His first issued poetry was seen in The United Irishman, a collection edited by Arthur Griffith. His first collection, Wild Earth gathered some of these rhymes and was dedicated to Æ. He wrote some more poems in Arthur Griffith’s publication, The United Irishman this instance, with The Poor Scholar leading him to the interest of WB Yeats. He got the chance to be friends with WB Yeats and Lady Gregory. He afterwards drafted a foreword to the Everyman’s Library edition of Edgar Allan Poe’s Tales of Mystery and Imagination.
