Description

Christian Wolf is a man not gifted with some exceptional qualities, host of the inn the Sun, financially distressed, and sadly in love. The terrible need of money takes him to lighter offenses, and the unevenly grave penalties ignite in him an unbearable longing for reprisal, twisting him even worse into misfortune. This is about the life story of a person through his criminal acts, and a work of insight, stating how overt conditions can gently change a good man into a convict.

Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller was a German poet, philosopher, physician, historian, and dramatist. In the final seventeen years of his life (1788 – 1805), Friedrich had a dynamic, if complex, acquaintance with the ever popular and successful Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. They often talked on matters about aesthetics, and Friedrich urged Johann to complete his pieces he left as drawings. This friendship and these conversations brought to a time regarded today as Weimar Classicism. They also pursued together on Xenien, a set of brief humorous verses in which both Friedrich and Johann contest adversaries to their philosophical foresight.

Friedrich Schiller was born in Marbach, Württemberg as the only son of military physician Johann Kaspar Schiller (1733 – 1796) and Elisabeth Dorothea Kodweiß (1732 – 1802). He was raised in a most devout family and spent most of his younger years reading the Bible, which would then inspire his literary career for the stage play.

A few of his plays include: Die Räuber (The Robbers), 1781; Fiesco (Die Verschwörung des Fiesco zu Genua), 1783; Kabale und Liebe(Intrigue and Love), 1784; Don Karlos, Infant von Spanien (Don Carlos), 1787; Wallenstein, 1800; Maria Stuart(Mary Stuart), 1800; Die Jungfrau von Orleans (The Maid of Orleans), 1801.
