With McKay hiding from the law, however, it is only a matter of time before he needs to flee once more, as he is pursued by Sergeant Cassady and the Canadian Mounted Police.

This romantic story focusing mostly on Jolly Roger McKay’s struggles is a beautiful read that pulls us through the tunnel of time to an era when the wilds of Canada resembled the old west and outlaws often pursued for no substantial reason would have to travel extreme distances to reach safety.

One of the most intriguing and significant aspects of the novel has to do with Jolly Roger’s dear friend, Yellowbird – a Native American belonging to the Cree tribe, who is somewhat of a psychic, and predicts that McKay will meet Nada once more in “The Country Beyond.”

This heart-rendering story will keep you at the edge of your seat throughout the read, exploring the heroics and the extent to which a man can go when driven by pure and true love.
