Description

Deceit, cunning plans and a female mastermind that could put Moriarty to shame: the Brotherhood of the Seven Kings is not your ordinary story collection. This set of linked short stories co-authored by L.T. Meade and Robert Eustace will make you look over your shoulder next time you exit the gates of a private society or establishment that may seem a little more eccentric than usual.

Norman Head was still a young lad when he first met Madame Koulchy in Naples, who at first seemed to be a steady, brilliant woman admired by all society. In secret, however, Madame Koulchy hides some of the most nefarious and evil plans and crimes anyone could even conceive of, and now that Head has once again crossed paths with her, he needs to steer carefully.

A remarkably resourceful and brilliant medical scientist, and the head of a secret organization known as the Brotherhood of the Seven Kings, Koulchy will stop at nothing in her attempt to bring Head down, while he is determined to bring her to justice.

Typically associated with medical dramas, as with most stories that Robert Eustace is involved in, these stories feature one of the most engaging plots that any similar short stories or novels Eustace wrote, either on his own, or together with L.T. Meade. With their different specializations, the two authors manage to bring their skills together to write a well-woven story that has kept readers on the edge for more than 100 years, and continues to impress even younger readers today.

The Brotherhood of the Seven Kings is special in that it is a crime thriller that borders on the impossible, yet still makes it extremely easy for readers to understand, follow and even relate to the struggles of the characters, as well as some of their decisions. You’ll find the stories both entrancing and entertaining, as they slowly guide you to an exciting ending that is well worth waiting for.
