Harrington Strong was a fictitious name created by novelist Johnston McCulley, originator of the hero Zorro and all others. The Brand of Silence – A Detective Story of Sidney Prale coming back to New York ten years later through which he hunted for his luck. However, he sees New York as a much diversified city, and all the more upsetting, he observes that his childhood buddies are already staying away from him, his past hangouts do not make him comfortable anymore, and there is likely to be a plot contradicting him.

Why cannot he get good service in hotels, cafeterias, and cinemas that he formerly visited? Who is conspiring from him? And only as significantly, why? And what is the definition of the comments he reads which retells him of reckoning?

Johnston McCulley was a writer of a bunch of tales, fifty novels, countless scenarios for motion picture and television, and the originator of the hero Zorro.

Some of his novels and tales were authored using the assumed name Harrington Strong, Raley Brien, George Drayne, Monica Morton, Rowena Raley, Frederic Phelps, Walter Pierson, and John Mack Stone, and many more.

Johnston worked as a police correspondent for The Police Gazette and became an Army public affairs officer in the First World War. An incompetent history enthusiast, he worked in popular magazines and screenplays, regularly making use of Southern California background for his tales.

Apart from Zorro, Johnston made several other sensational heroes, such as Black Star, The Spider, The Mongoose, and Thubway Tham. Some of Johnston’s heroes such as The Green Ghost, The Thunderbolt, and The Crimson Clown, were all bright ideas for the characters in disguise that are seen in famous culture from John’s days to the current time.

He was born in Ottawa, Illinois, and grew up in Chillicothe, Illinois, he breathed his last in 1958 in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 75.
