The complete title of the book is: Which is also Falsely Called BREAKS. The Wanderings or Falsifications of the One Thought of Frater Perdurabo, which Thought is itself Untrue. Liber CCCXXXIII [Book 333]. The Book of Lies or also called as Liber 333, is a divine book in the Western occult religion of Thelema which comprises 91 chapters of poems, aphorisms, rituals, and metaphysics. The holy book is described to be symbolic, contradicting, and somewhat lewd but underneath lies a prudish social, political, and religious principles of Crowley’s existence.

Aleister Crowley having the birth name of Edward Alexander Crowley was a British occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, painter, novelist, and mountaineer. He was also known as both Frater Perdurabo and The Great Beast 666. He was the founder of the religion of Thelema, describing himself as a prophet who guided humanity into the Æon of Horus in the 20th century. The religion of Thelema is based on a philosophical law and adopted the same name as a central tenet by other religious organizations. The law of Thelema is “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will.”

He was a notable author and he had numerous various publications during his lifetime. He was born to a rich Plymouth Brethren family in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Crowley neglected his fundamentalist Christian belief and got influenced by Western esotericism. He pursued his education at the University of Cambridge and centered more on mountaineering and poetry, which made him write many compilations.

He was also notable for his works including Rose and the Cross, a collection of short poetry; The Quest; The Vixen, a collection of ghost and horror stories; Household Gods; The Pentagram; Aleister Crowley Complete Works; Leah Sublime; Gedichten; and many other extraordinary and profound works.
