Description

The Book of Hosea is a book in the Bible which is translated in English by Young’s Literal Translation. The translator was Robert Young, a collector of Young’s Analytical Concordance to the Bible and Concise Critical Comments on the New Testament. In 1887, Young accomplished a Revised Version of the translation. After his death, the publisher released a new Revised Edition in 1898.

In the 1898 Edition of the Young’s Literal Translation, alike with the original translations of Robert Young, persistently concedes the Hebrew Tetragrammaton or the holy name throughout the Old Covenant of the Old Testament as Jehovah, instead of translating in English as lord.

Hosea or Salvation in Greek was the son of Beeri, he was a prophet in Israel who made the book of prophecies in his own name. He is one of the twelve prophets of the Jewish Hebrew Bible, or the minor prophets of the Christian Old Testament. He is often described as a prophet conveying messages of destruction, but relays messages of a guarantee of reconstruction.

The book includes sermons and prayers. Hosea wrote his own experiences significant to the relevance of God and Israel, where God is the husband and Israel is the wife. His wife deceived him and went with other men; whereas, Israel left God to go with false gods. Hosea searched and found his wife and brought her back; God will not leave Israel and brought them back even if they had sinned from him.

One of the sermons of The Book of Hosea is about repentance, because of an increased worshipping of false gods. Christians expounded the prophecies in the book to Christ and the church. Christ as the husband and the church as his bride. Christians perceived that people should not forsake the Lord Jesus Christ, who sacrificed himself on the cross to save His people.
