The Bobbsey Twins are the main heroes of what was, for a number of years, the Stratemeyer Syndicate’s endless series of tales for kids, written using the pen name Laura Lee Hope. The first of 72 volumes were produced in 1904, the final ones in 1979. The volumes about the excitements of the kids of the middleclass Bobbsey family, having two sets of fraternal twins: Bert and Nan at 12 years old and Flossie and Freddie at 6 years old.

Laura Lee Hope is an assumed name made use by the Stratemeyer Syndicate for the Bobbsey Twins and many other series of stories for kids. Real authors using the pseudonym of Laura Lee Hope were Edward Stratemeyer, Howard and Lilian Garis, Elizabeth Ward, Harriet Stratemeyer Adams, Andrew E. Svenson, June M. Dunn, Grace Grote and Nancy Axelrad.
