Sex Life of the Godsis representative for the so-called “pulp literature”, a genre that was very popular in the 50’s and 60’s of the 20th century. It presents the struggle of the protagonist, Nick Danson, to recover his past and catching up with his life after suffering an accident that left him with temporary amnesia.

The book opens with a scene describing the crash of a space ship and the desperate attempts of the pilot to avoid a catastrophe. The fragment seems to have no connection with the continuation, as the confused hero, who does not remember anything about his life, not even his name, tries to wash off the blood that is all over him and find a logical explanation for his state.

In the meantime, the crashed space ship causes great agitation among federal investigation agencies and secret services, who have the mission to search and capture the missing pilot.

Nick succeeds to get back home to his loving wife Beth, who believed he was dead and welcomes him with opened arms, the fact that he had been missing for 13 months coming as a huge surprise for the protagonist.

Although he seems to readjust with his old way of life, Nick is constantly haunted by nightmares. He gradually begins to realize that the visions appearing in his dreams are somehow related to what happened before the accident.

On the other hand, Nolan Brice, the police officer who investigates the circumstances of Nick’s missing, feels that something is not right with the amnesia story. As the hero finally discovers his real identity as the Firstspacer Lors from Thista, a far away planet, he has to make some important decisions.
