Now it is time to complete their story in Peggy Raymond’s Way, after four other highly successful novels depicting their lives and path to maturity: The Girls of Friendly Terrace, Peggy Raymond’s Vacation, Peggy Raymond’s School Days and The Friendly Terrace Quartette.

The story starts out as the girls enjoy their spring break activities. They soon find themselves preparing for Peggy and Grahame’s wedding, while the other three girls spend a great deal of time contemplating their own future relationship opportunities. Will they all get married and live happily ever after? Perhaps there is a little more mischief at hand until we can learn the answer to that question.

Harried Lummis Smith uses her characteristic style and enjoyable portrayal of her beloved characters to give them a great send-off as she closes the series. Focused on relations between friends and the enduring bond of family, the book is an excellent read no matter what century you’re from.

Aside from her work on the Friendly Terrace series – and maybe not surprisingly – Smith is also known for her contributions to the delightful Polyanna series, where she assisted Eleanor H. Porter in writing some of the sequels that followed Pollyanna Grows Up in 1915.
