After the stress that Uncle Henry had to endure while rebuilding the house lost during the cyclone that brought Dorothy to Oz the first time around, he simply had to take an extended holiday. Boarding a steamship to Australia with Dorothy, while Toto and Aunt Em stayed behind in Kansas seemed to be a very good idea at first.

However, when a powerful Pacific storm hit the steamship, Dorothy was soon separated from her uncle once more, and ended up on the empty sea, saved by a chicken coop that was floating nearby. Soon enough she found herself in the magical land of Ev, where together with her new friend – a hen called Billina – she embarks on a brand new adventure that has her face the head-exchanging Princess Langwidere, only to later embark on a rescue mission together with Princess Ozma and her Royal Court of Oz.

Ozma of Oz is a long and exciting adventure story filled with magic, mystery and danger. While children will be delighted to meet new characters such as the delightful Ozma – the rightful ruler of Oz – or Tik-Tok, older readers will find the story to be quite exciting as well, and the complexity of the characters or the exciting and unexpected plot twists will be suitable, as well as highly enjoyable, for people of all ages.
