The main character’s moral strength is enduring and quite admirable, as he gets close to death in his pursuit of the truth. He is also revealed to present an unwavering devotion to his wife, whom he supports despite her involvement in a number of questionable actions.

From the complex characters involved, to Le Queux’s masterful ability to captivate readers through his narrative, you’ll find this book to be entirely enjoyable, both as a classic and as a thought-provoking mystery story.
