Description

First Lensman is a science fiction and space opera written by the American writer E. E. Smith. It was first released in 1950 by Fantasy Press with 5,995 copies. Even though it is the second story in the series of Lensman, it was penned as the sixth book. The science fiction recounts the formation of the Galactic Patrol by Virgil Samms, the first conscious creature in the outer space to garb the Lens, a rare insignia of authority which is truly an outward appearance of pseudo-life that gives access to telepathic powers to the guardians of Civilization.

The secret world where no man had ever set foot on is the secret planet of Arisia. A strange space blockade reversed men and space ships. Then the news was spread to Earth, “Go to Arisia!”, Virgil Samms of the Galactic Patrol went away and returned with the Lens, the weird device that gave powers to those who wear it where no human had ever owned in the past.

First Lensman is the sequel to Triplanetary, and the second science book of E.E. “Doc” Smith’s timeless Lensman series.

Edward Elmer Smith also referred to as E. E. Smith, E. E. Smith, Ph.D., E. E. “Doc” Smith, Doc Smith, “Skylark” Smith, or Ted to his family, was an American food engineer, majoring in doughnut and pastry mixtures, and a primary science fiction writer, highly famous for the Lensman and Skylark series. He is often remarked as the father of space opera.

He had been envisioning in making a space fraud squad book ever since in 1927. He had the Lensmen’s planetary properly done, he went over his space opera books for police force stories. He mentions Clinton Constantinescue’s War of the Universe as adverse and Starzl and Williamson as helpful. Tremaine answered immensely in the affirmative to a short explanation of the impression.
