John Henry Haaren was a US educator and historian. His father was German and his mother was both Irish and British. He attended the Columbia University under Prof. N. M. Butler at Columbia University, before becoming a professor in New York. He was an Associate Superintendent of Schools in New York, enlisting more preschoolers and foreign students.

He was director of the department of pedagogy in the Brooklyn Institute. Haaren High School in Manhattan was given title in his credit. The Charles B. J. Snyder educational institution which was firstly DeWitt Clinton High School is now known as Haaren Hall on the campus of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Two of these Famous Men of Rome includes: Constantine the Great known mostly as Constantine I or Saint Constantine in the Orthodox Church as Saint Constantine the Great, Equal-to-the-Apostles; and Publius Horatius Cocles was a military officer of the historic Roman Republic who conquered Pons Sublicius from the invasion of Lars Porsena, king of Clusium in the 6th century BC, throughout the revolt of Rome and Clusium.
