Divine Healing is a religious and spiritual book which is sourced out from the Holy Bible in order to help the people of God or the Christians to heal from illness and have a closer connection with Him. The book inspired lots of Christians for many years. It entails how Jesus Christ forgives sinners and wants them to start anew, not only that but the author also pointed out how having faith in God can heal a person from grave sickness and all other sufferings.

Andrew Murray, the author of Divine Healing was a South African author, educator, and a Christian clergy. He regarded religious responsibilities as “the chief end of the church”.

Murray was born in Graaf Reinet, South Africa to parents Andrew Murray Sr., a Dutch Converted Church missionary from Scotland to South Africa, his mother, Maria Susanna Stegmann, of French Huguenot and German Lutheran lineage.

He went to school at Aberdeen in Scotland for his primary education, along with his older brother, John. They both graduated and got their master’s degrees there. Murray and his brother continued their studies at the University of Utrecht where they took up theology. Both brothers were affiliated with Het Réveil, a religious renewal group in contrast to the judicious which was popular in the Netherlands during those days. The two brothers were ordained by The Hague Committee of the Dutch Reformed Church and afterwards came back to the Cape.

Murray ministered churches in Bloemfontein, Worcester, Cape Town and Wellington, all in South Africa. He had a leadership of the South African Revival. He was the co-founder of the South African General Mission together with Martha Osborn and Spencer Walton. His works made him a figure of Higher Life or a Keswick leader, and through his divine faith, healing, and belief, he became an important precursor of the Pentecostal movement.
