Howard R. Garis born as Howard Roger Garis in Binghamton, New York, U.S. Howard Roger Garis was a writer, mostly known for a series of volumes, printed in his own name, that highlighted the character of Uncle Wiggily Longears, a charming senior rabbit. Howard and his wife were probably the highly notable children’s writers of the 20th century. A number of his series were illustrated by Lansing Campbell.

Howard worked as a newspaperman with the Newark Evening News. Right after, every day, he started drafting a bedtime tale about Uncle Wiggily, a rabbit lead, and his buddies. He wrote one story every day but not on Sundays. In totality, he wrote over 15,000 tales and approximately 500 volumes.
