But Thy Love and Thy Grace

Description

Regina O’Connell is an unfortunate working girl whose salaries upkeep herself and her sickly sister. She is artless herself, a few of those unique girls whom selflessness and real modesty make female lead in the actual reason of the description. She talks to the Lord weekly, and has efforts to make herself enter into the restricted way, but she could not still say from her heart the lovely prayer of St. Ignatius:” Take, O Lord, all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, my whole will.” She made efforts, truly made efforts. Sometimes the sorrow is nearly unbearable, but she finally knows her lesson. “Give me but Thy love and Thy grace,” she quietly said, “for these are sufficient for me.” “And she received His love and His grace, and in the receiving her heart throbbed with a bliss seldom known upon earth, for His love and His grace were indeed sufficient.”

Father Francis J. Finn was born in St. Louis, Missouri, a Jesuit priest who composed a set of 27 famous books for children. The stories include enjoyable takes, loveable characters and topics that are still present in the world of today. Every tale carries a crucial ethical concept.

He was the son of Irish immigrants. He went to parochial schools in Missouri. As a child, Francis was truly overwhelmed with Cardinal Wiseman’s illustrious story of the first Christian martyrs, Fabiola. When he was 11 years old, he was an avid reader; he read the books of Charles Dickens, engulfing Nicholas Nickleby and The Pickwick Papers. From his First Communion, he started to dream to become a Jesuit priest. Fr. Charles Coppens encouraged him to join himself to his Latin, to perfect it by reading an all-Latin prayer book, and to read Catholic texts. Fr. Finn acknowledged his calling to this guidance and to his membership in the Sodality of Our Lady.
