Description

The First Letter or Epistle of John or known as First John is the first Johannine epistles of the New Testament of the Christian Bible, and the fourth catholic epistles. The letter was written by John the Evangelist, referred to as the author of the Gospel of John and the two Johannine epistles. First John was written to oppose docetism, which is the theorem that Jesus Christ did not return physically as a person but as a Holy Spirit. It also shows that Christians ascertain genuine leaders through their morals, their declaration of Christ as a person, and through their appreciation. The subject matters of the letters are love and communion with God.

The Revised Version, Standard American Edition of the Bible, simply known as the American Standard Version (ASV), is a Bible translation into English language that was finished in 1901, with the production of the revision of the Old Testament; the revised New Testament had been published in 1900. It was originally noted by its complete title, but have other names, as the American Revised Version, the American Standard Revision, the American Standard Revised Bible, and the American Standard Edition. When its copyright was extended in 1929, it had come to be known as, the American Standard Version. Because of its distinction in seminaries, it was in the United States to sometimes call as the “Standard Bible”.

The American Standard Version, also known as The American Revision of 1901, started in 1870 to revise the Authorized Version or King James Bible of 1611. This work of revision gradually drafted the Revised Version (RV). American religious leaders for scholars were sent requests to lend a hand on the RV assignment. In 1871, thirty scholars were selected by Philip Schaff.
