Description

Second Peter or called as the Second Epistle or Letter of Peter of the Christian New Testament. The letter was written by the Apostle Peter and it was considered by present day biblical scholars as pseudepigraphical or various Jewish texts from the first century BC to the first century AD that are divinely revealed but are excluded from the Old Testament of the Hebrew Bible. The Second Epistle of Peter cites and conforms Jude largely, distinguishes Jesus with God, and connotes a foreshadowing apostasy of the Second Return of Christ that is yet to happen.

The Revised Version, Standard American Edition of the Bible, simply known as the American Standard Version (ASV), is a Bible translation into English language that was finished in 1901, with the production of the revision of the Old Testament; the revised New Testament had been published in 1900. It was originally noted by its complete title, but have other names, as the American Revised Version, the American Standard Revision, the American Standard Revised Bible, and the American Standard Edition. When its copyright was extended in 1929, it had come to be known as, the American Standard Version. Because of its distinction in seminaries, it was in the United States to sometimes call as the “Standard Bible”.

The American Standard Version, also known as The American Revision of 1901, started in 1870 to revise the Authorized Version or King James Bible of 1611. This work of revision gradually drafted the Revised Version (RV). American religious leaders for scholars were sent requests to lend a hand on the RV assignment. In 1871, thirty scholars were selected by Philip Schaff. The religious creed designated on the American committee were the Baptist, Congregationalist, Dutch Reformed, Friends, Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Protestant Episcopal, and Unitarian. These scholars started their project in 1872.
