Description
The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy regarding Timothy as the leader of the Holy Church and its structure and foundation. The main subjects of the First Epistle of Timothy are the laws of the church, Encratism or faulty beliefs, how to pray, the importance of women in the church, how to be a good leader of the church, and the roles of widows, older people, leaders, youth, and followers of church. The role and function of women in the Ephesian Church are looked upon and those who can and cannot serve the Holy Church as priests and religious officers. Other Ephesians thought that women are not capable of having the role as church officers because of Paul’s statement, “Husband of one wife”, of in Greek phrase, “Man of one woman”, where women are excluded from such role.
