Description

Colossians is a book of the Christian New Testament written by the Apostle Paul while he was captivated. It is also called as a Prison Epistle. The significant persons in the Book of Colossians are the Apostle Paul, Timothy, Tychicus, Onesimus, Aristarchus, Mark, and Epaphras. The purpose of the book is to hearten the followers of Christ to serve Him more with love and dedication. Paul sent a letter of gratitude to the Christian devotees at Colosse. He preaches the word of God attesting the holiness of the Messiah who is God himself in human form. Sadly, the false pedagogues told the people that Jesus was only an ordinary man and He is not God. Paul stood by his beliefs and assures all men that Jesus is a real God.

The Revised Version, Standard American Edition of the Bible, simply known as the American Standard Version (ASV), is a Bible translation into English language that was finished in 1901, with the production of the revision of the Old Testament; the revised New Testament had been published in 1900. It was originally noted by its complete title, but have other names, as the American Revised Version, the American Standard Revision, the American Standard Revised Bible, and the American Standard Edition. When its copyright was extended in 1929, it had come to be known as, the American Standard Version. Because of its distinction in seminaries, it was in the United States to sometimes call as the “Standard Bible”.

The American Standard Version, also known as The American Revision of 1901, started in 1870 to revise the Authorized Version or King James Bible of 1611. This work of revision gradually drafted the Revised Version (RV). American religious leaders for scholars were sent requests to lend a hand on the RV assignment. In 1871, thirty scholars were selected by Philip Schaff.
