Description

Hosea is the first of the twelve Minor Prophets in relation to the historical order of the Hebrew Bible. Hosea or Salvation in Greek was the son of Beeri, he was a prophet in Israel who made the book of prophecies in his own name. Hosea includes sermons and prayers. Hosea wrote his own experiences significant to the relevance of God and Israel, where God is the husband and Israel is the wife. His wife deceived him and went with other men; whereas, Israel left God to go with false gods. Hosea searched and found his wife and brought her back; God will not leave Israel and brought them back despite of what they have done.

The Revised Version, Standard American Edition of the Bible, simply known as the American Standard Version (ASV), is a Bible translation into English language that was finished in 1901, with the production of the revision of the Old Testament; the revised New Testament had been published in 1900. It was originally noted by its complete title, but have other names, as the American Revised Version, the American Standard Revision, the American Standard Revised Bible, and the American Standard Edition. When its copyright was extended in 1929, it had come to be known as, the American Standard Version. Because of its distinction in seminaries, it was in the United States to sometimes call as the “Standard Bible”.

The American Standard Version, also known as The American Revision of 1901, started in 1870 to revise the Authorized Version or King James Bible of 1611. This work of revision gradually drafted the Revised Version (RV). American religious leaders for scholars were sent requests to lend a hand on the RV assignment. In 1871, thirty scholars were selected by Philip Schaff. The religious creed designated on the American committee were the Baptist, Congregationalist, Dutch Reformed, Friends, Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Protestant Episcopal, and Unitarian. These scholars started their project in 1872.
