Count von Rudloff, a young noble man, got into a misunderstanding with the Imperial Family in Berlin, that he had not seen any choice but to act like he is dead. He, then, makes up multiple identities, he eventually personifies, which is against his own will, the character of the Prince von Gramberg. At the castle of Gramberg, he was entertained with intrigue and controversy, which harms the security of the young and lovely Countess Minna. Count von Rudloff opts to save the Countess, but the controversy got more intense than it was before, and there are also a number of enemies who want to take revenge from him.

The author of the intriguing story was Arthur Williams Marchmont. He was a British author and journalist. Arthur was born in Southgate, England in 1852 and he died in 1923.
