Description

A poetry whose theme is about expedition, men sailed towards the blue ocean for about four weeks. Never seeing land when they journeyed with their ship, they saw sea creatures like whales jumping out of the sea. They were determined to discover some land, in Vinland they went. They crossed the sea to find the land, they saw glazy mountains, what a lovely sight in the morning they thought, but risky and scary at night. And icy, foamy sea they crossed their eyes lighten up with wonder.

Their ship sways from the high waves of the sea. They saw green grounds of the sea and they were excited to know they are near the new land. But they thought wrong, they were still far from the land. Many voyagers risk their lives sailing their great ships to find the new land. The prophetess sang with a sad tone, Vinland was shut by the gods since no men from everywhere had ever find the land, in the hope of making their first conquest in it. They were never successful in their voyage, but they still hope of finding it.

The poem is a very lengthy one. However, it did not mention if the voyagers find the new land. but it is clear that they had never lose hope and still continue their quest.

The Voyage to Vinland is a poetry to expedition by James Russell Lowell, an American poet whose main genre is Romanticism, he is also a critic, editor, and diplomat. He is involved with the Fireside Poets, an association of New England Writers who were the first American poets who competes with the fame of British poets. The poet considers that he played a valuable character as a preacher and critic of their society. He wrote poetry to address reform such as abolitionism and anti-slavery on African-Americans.
