Description

The United States Constitution is the sovereign law of the United States of America. The Constitution, primarily containing seven articles, outlines the national structure of government. The first three articles establish the doctrine of the separation of powers, where the federal government is differed into three branches: the legislative, which is the bicameral Congress; the executive, which is the President; and the judicial, which are the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six establish precepts of federalism, defining the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in connection to the federal government. Article Seven institutes the course of action then used by the thirteen States to authorize it.

The Founding Fathers of the United States are those people of the Thirteen Colonies in North America who headed the American Revolution as oppose to the authority of the British Crown in verbal and action and interposed to the institution of the United States of America.

Historian Richard B. Morris distinguished the seven individuals as the important Founding Fathers: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington. Adams, Jefferson, and Franklin were members of the Committee of Five that prepared the Declaration of Independence. Hamilton, Madison, and Jay wrote The Federalist Papers, promoting the approval of the Constitution. Jay, Adams and Franklin dealt with the Treaty of Paris that would terminate the American Revolutionary War. Washington was Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army and was President of the Constitutional Convention. Washington, Jay and Franklin are regarded as the Founding Fathers of U.S. Intelligence by the CIA.
