Description

Once a nobleman, Robert of Huntington is chased away from his lands by the merciless, cruel Sheriff of Nottingham, the right hand of the tyrannical Prince John, finding shelter in the Sherwood Forest.

Seeing the social injustice peasants and small farmers fall victims to, he decides to correct the wrongdoings of the despotic rulers, stealing from the rich, mainly allies of the tyrant who illegitimately sits on his brother’s throne. However, he does not keep the money for himself, but gives it back to the poor it was taken from.

Robin Hood’s helpers, also known as the “merry men”, are also present, from Little John, who is famous for his herculean strength, and Friar Tuck who, with his wit and slick mind, always finds a way out of dangerous situation, to Will Scarlet and Allin-a-Dale.

Unlike in other modern collections of stories centered around the legendary outlaw, Maid Marian, Robin’s love interest, is also given a place among the characters of the book, as the beginning of the love story between the two of them and even their first attempt to marry interrupted by the Sheriff of Nottingham, are presented.
