Amelia Sophia Le Feuvre, the author of this intriguing book, was born in Blackheath, London, England. She came from a big family with a nanny for the children’s studies. Her father was a Surveyor at H. M. Customs – CSO. James Mainguy, her grandfather, was a clergy in Guernsey. She was devoted and was passionate about writing, creating several books and stories with Biblical basis, she wrote for periodicals like Sunday at Home and Quiver. She often uses the pen name Mary Thurston Dodge when writing her books.
