Sidney Bowen and by making use of the pen name James Robert Richard.Robert focused himself into writing books by utilizing his success as editor-in-chief of Aviation Magazine to compose Flying From The Ground Up, a non-fiction work on how to take flight an airplane. He started working casually for pulp magazines. Then, he began his own pulp magazine, Dusty Ayres And His Battle Birds, for Popular Publications. 12 copies were issued, the first eleven issued monthly from July 1934 through July 1935, with more copies issued monthly.
