Caroline Cameron Lockhart was a journalist and novelist from the United States of America. Caroline Lockhart was born in Eagle Point, Illinois. She was raised on a ranch in Kansas. She enrolled at the Bethany College in Topeka, Kansas and the Moravian Seminary in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

She was not successful in becoming an actress, and tried her luck for a stint in reporting for the Boston Post and then for the Philadelphia Bulletin. She also began writing short literature. She emigrated to Cody, Wyoming to compose a feature story about the Blackfoot Indians, and lived there. She began writing fictional books and her second work, The Lady Doc was centred on her life experiences in Cody. Then she transferred to Denver, Colorado and succeeded as a reporter for The Denver Post. Her book, The Fighting Shepherdess, is freely centred on the life of sheepherder Lucy Morrison Moore, was popularized into a film featuring Lenore J. Coffee, Anita Stewart and William Farnham. As well as her primary novel, The Man from the Bitter Roots. She also encountered Douglas Fairbanks about producing The Dude Wrangler.
