Description
This creative and surprisingly new quintessence of situations caused by the subject of race in the United States is not a distinctive plea for the black populace, but appears in a detached, although compassionate, modal situations as they essentially subsist among the whites and blacks nowadays. Distinctive pleas have just been created for and in contrary to the black populace in a number of texts, but in these texts either his principles or his iniquities have been overstated. This is for the reason that authors, in almost every moment, have dealt with the colored American in their entirety, each has brought at least one faction of the race to attest his justification. Not before has an amalgam and balanced demonstration of the whole race, encompassing all of its different groups and divisions, establishing their relations with one another and to the whites, made possible. James Weldon Johnson was an American writer, professor, barrister, diplomat, song composer, and civil rights activist. James is mostly commemorated for his leadership of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People(NAACP), where he began working in 1917. In 1920, he was the first African American to be appointed as executive secretary of the organization, meritoriously the operating officer. He worked in that position from 1920 to 1930. James founded his repute as an author, and was famous throughout the Harlem Renaissance for his verse, novels, and anthologies compiling both poems and devotionals of black culture. He was assigned under President Theodore Roosevelt as a United States consul in Venezuela and Nicaragua for a maximum time between 1906 – 1913. In 1934, he was the first African-American educator to work in New York University. In the later part of his life, he became an instructor of artistic literature and drafting at Fisk University.
