Description

Jim Hawkins is a young boy who, after a series of tumultuous events, becomes the owner of a treasure map. He shows it to Squire Trelawney and Doctor Livesey, who enthusiastically recognize it to be the map to Captain Flint’s stolen and hidden treasure.

The two men decide to go on an expedition looking for the treasure, therefore, Squire Trelawney buys a ship, the Hispaniola, and outfits it. He hires Smollett to lead the expedition, but little does he know that the Captain is the one of the few trustworthy men aboard; most of the crew is made up of Flint’s old comrades, including Long John Silver.

While at sea, Jim accidentally hears Silver planning an insurrection and he immediately warns Trelawney, the captain and Livesey. They decide not to take action just yet and wait until they find the treasure, as their chances against the pirates are rather poor.

Upon finding the Treasure Island, Captain Smollett strategically sends most of the insurgents ashore. Jim decides to hide in the boat that goes ashore, but he is scared by the pirates and runs into the woods. There, he meets one of Flint’s former crew members, Ben Gunn, who has given up piracy meanwhile. He will be crucial to the story, as he has new information about the treasure.
