Aubertine Woodward Moore was a musical critic, translator, and lecturer. She was born on September 27, 1841, in Philadelphia. She wrote under the alias of Aubertine Forestier. She wrote articles to the Philadelphia magazines on the reserves of California, and had wrote translations of a number of books from the German language. She also made translations of music and original songs.

In 1877, she wrote Echoes from Mist-Land, or in its complete title, The Nibelungen Lay Revealed to Lovers of Romance and Chivalry, which is a literary form of the best known poem, and was the first American translation of that poem which was most remarkable, not only in the United States but also in England and Germany.

She is a famous Scandinavian translator and is a primary in the translation of the Norway Music Album, a treasured collection of Norwegian folk-lore songs, dances, national airs and compositions for the piano.

In December 1887, she got married with Samuel H. Moore. Mrs. Moore is regarded as having the power over the origins of music and literature of the Scandinavians, and a set of her works in music would likely shape the greatly cherished collection of Scandinavian customs to be sought in the English language. She has made a very important career in making Americans mundane with the Norwegian literature and music.
